Carytown Optical is a three decades old optician in Viginia, USA. Their premium eyewear is equally sought after by women, men and teenagers representing styles from classic to retro, elegant to funky, colorful to subtle. We built a secure online store that offers the latest styles and fashion trends for high-quality, affordable specialty prescription sun/eyeglasses and non-prescription sunglasses. This E-commerce portal was more than just a traditional cart. We built a suite of optician services that helps clients choose the right glasses for them.
When we set out to build the Carytown Optical Commerce portal, we had to discard all traditional ideas we had about building ecommerce carts. Because this system demanded extreme customisation. We built a system that reads power glass prescriptions like Pupilary distance, Interpupilary distance sphere or cylinder and suggests the right optical lens for the user. The user than chooses any other added services like, UV coating, Scratch coating, polarised coating or scratch coating. The customer can then choose frames. Building user interface for such a customisable product cart was a great learning for our team.
